Alison Crocetta has been a student and practitioner of the healing arts, yoga, and meditation for many years. In 2001, while living in New York, she was first offered Reiki energy in the aftermath of 911. Moved by the experience, she has benefited from the support of regular Reiki sessions since that time. Alison began her formal study of Reiki in 2017 and became a certified Level II Reiki practitioner in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition in 2019 with the loving guidance of her teacher, Reiki Master, Susan DeLor Baas. Alison has recently started working with Susan to learn sound healing techniques that will compliment her Reiki practice in the future.

In addition to her ongoing work with Susan DeLor Baas, Alison has also been incredibly fortunate to study Tibetan Buddhist meditation practices with instruction from her teachers, Lama Lodrö Tulku Rinpoche and Zürich-trained Jungian analyst and psychologist, Rachael Wooten, PhD. Alison completed a 200-hour level yoga teaching certification in 2014 with the mentorship of yogini Janice George at the Samyoga Institute in Columbus, Ohio. She was first introduced to Buddhism and mindfulness techniques during a silent retreat in 2000 with the late Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh.

In other aspects of her work-life, Alison is an artist and Associate Professor in the Department of Art at The Ohio State University (OSU) where she has taught a wide range of courses including a freshman seminar called Yoga and the Quest for Creative Freedom. Her interest in mindful approaches to life, work, and leadership led Alison to participate in the 2020-2021 Inner MBA program through New York University’s Mindful NYU. In 2020, Alison served as Director of the Lawrence and Isabel Barnett Center for Integrated Arts and Enterprise at OSU.

Alison lives with her son, Louie, in Columbus, Ohio. More information about Alison’s art practice can be found at this website.
